The SPR Travel Basketball program is open to Boys and Girls in Grades 3-6. The Maine Basketball League is the league we are participating in for 2025-2026. Game locations for this league include Maine Basketball Academy in Portland, the Lewiston Armory, Maine Sports Arena in Saco, the Brunswick Rec Center, The Point in South Portland and other locations TBD. Saco Parks and Recreation will determine whether divisions are composed of single or combined grades based on registrations, coach availability, and participant age and ability.

Registration Fee: $225.00/resident; $225.00/non-resident
Fee covers all costs to enter into leagues, players clinics, tournaments, referees, practices & uniforms. All fees include uniforms and a shooting shirt. Uniforms must be returned at the end of the season. Players keep the shooting shirts.

Evaluation Night: Evaluations will be held at the Saco Community Center Gym on Sunday, October 26th, 2025. Girls 3&4: 3:00-3:45pm, Boys 3&4: 4:00-4:45pm, Girls 5&6: 5:00-5:45pm, Boys 5&6: 6:00-6:45pm. *Times are subject to change pending end of season fall sports schedules.*
All athletes who do not make a Travel team will have the opportunity to register for our Recreation Basketball program. Your payment for Travel will be used to cover the Recreation registration fee and the remainder can be either credited to your SPR account or refunded. If you choose not to register in the Recreation program, your full Travel payment will be refunded.

Practices start the week of November 3rd, 2025. Please note that specific practice days and times will not be released until the week after evaluations. Practices will be held on Mondays, Tuesdays, and/or Thursdays between 5:00 to 8:00pm. Teams may occasionally also have games on Friday evenings. We are unable to determine coaching availability until teams are formed and will plan practice schedules once teams are finalized.

League Regular Season Game Schedule: November 15th, 2025 – January 18th, 2026. Playoffs to follow.
