SPR is cooking up some fun for our teen chefs!
Building off the success of our Teen Place Program, SPR is excited to bring back our Teen Cooking Academy! This is an introductory cooking program, mixing classroom and kitchen work. Participants will learn fundamentals involved with food preparation, including: nutrition and food groups, introduction to kitchens and equipment, and preparation techniques. Using locally sourced produce, meats, and other ingredients our Teen Place Cooking Academy will create something mouth watering each and every week. After each meeting, participants will serve dishes based on what they learned that day.
Transportation for Teen Place Cooking Academy will be provided from SMS and TAMS each week. Specific pick up time and location will be shared at a later date.
Registration into the Teen Place Cooking Academy will also gain you a Membership for SPR Teen Place. This will allow you to also take part in our on-site Wednesday and Thursday evening sessions along with our Friday Trips.
