CURRENT JOB OPENINGS:
- Summer Camp and Theater Academy Recreational Counselor FT & PT
Summer applications will be accepted starting February 2, 2026, with interviews scheduled in the first few weeks of March to fill vacancies as needed. Eligible candidates must have at least completed their freshman year of high school. Other eligibility requirements for candidates are noted in the City of Saco online application.
Must already be lifeguard certified or ready to be certified by June 14, 2026. SPR is willing to reimburse for certification. Applicants must be age 16 or older. Lifeguard applications can be submitted starting in February 2026. Hourly rates of pay typically vary between $18-$21/hour, depending on experience and role.
This is a recurring 6-month seasonal position within the Parks Division of the department not to exceed 1,456 hours in a calendar year. The schedule is a 40-hour work week that includes a non-standard work week that may include a flexible schedule to include weekends and evenings.
UPCOMING JOB OPENINGS:
After-school and vacation full-day programs run Monday–Friday and follow the elementary school calendar. Seasonal Recreation Employees may work in our childcare programs and other programs occurring during the school year (youth sports and special events). Applicants must have completed at least one year of high school and have flexible availability, including some evenings and weekends. Preferred availability: 1:45 PM (Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri) and 12:00 PM (Wed).
