SPR is celebrating our 50 year anniversary of summer day camps this season!
Current Advisory Board President and former SPR Director Sue Spath recently shared with us history about SPR camp origins: looking back over the decades, small programs, sports camps and swimming lessons were offered through the parks and recreation department in Saco.  When Sue joined as Director in 1972, this was when the day camp program started to develop, turning into the essential program we offer today to so many families in the community and the surrounding greater Saco area.  We are thrilled to be a part of SPR history and look forward to celebrating 50 years of summer camp in 2022!

This summer, we will continue the creative and fun on-camp activities along with community outings/local field trips and on-camp entertainment events from summer 2021. As we have in years past, we will be collaborating with the Saco School Department to support the learning initiatives offered for the upcoming summer.  Camp schedules will be finalized mid-June and information will be sent out the week before camp and throughout the summer.
