Start Smart Golf

Start Smart Golf is a developmentally appropriate introductory golf program for children 5-7 years old. The program teaches children proper golf skills in a fun, non-competitive environment.

Start Smart Golf prepares children and their parents for on-course play without the threat of competition. Age appropriate equipment from SNAG® is used in teaching putting, chipping, pitching and the full swing.

With Start Smart, every player must have a helper at each meeting to work with. Helpers can be a parent partner or sibling over the age of 13.

Program Details
  • Who: Children ages 5-10 years old
  • Where: Saco Community Center Gym
  • Dates: Saturdays, March 18th-April 15th, 2023
  • Times: Two different session options based on age:
  • Option 1 - 9:00a.m.–10:00a.m. Ages 5-7
  • Option 2 - 10:30a.m.–11:30a.m. Ages 8-10
  • Format: Meet on Saturdays for an instructional clinic with parent partner. Held once a week for 5 weeks, each week the exercises become increasingly more difficult as the class progresses and the children show improvement.
  • SPR Staff: Led by SPR Programmers Jerry Nason and Dylan Nason

  • Cost: $45.00 Res $50.00 Non-Resident
  • Equipment: Gear is provided to use on-site during every class.
  • Deadline: Registration open through February 17th, 2023 or as space allows.
  • Max: 12* - see below
  • 8 seats available for right-handed golfers (due to equipment available)
  • 4 seats available for left-handed golfers (due to equipment available)
