Join us for our upcoming community offerings, such as Lunch & Learns and special events at the Community Center! We will be adding more as the year progresses!
Lunch & Learn Series
Join us for these educational offerings and enjoy lunch and learns about different topics throughout the year! Each month we will have a special guest and new topic to explore. Preregistration is required so that we can plan for the lunch order. Doors open at 11:45am so that everyone can get seated with lunch by a little after 12:00pm for the class to start. Please notify us ahead of time with any dietary restrictions or severe allergies. Once you are registered and you can no longer attend, we will need to know 48 hours in advance in order to receive your credits back to your account. Lunch will vary each month, but you can expect something like sandwiches, pizza, salads, OR wraps, plus chips and fruit or veggies. $5.00/members; $8.00/non-members.

Efficiency Maine Residential Offerings
Join us for an informative meeting exploring home energy savings with Efficiency Maine. They promote energy efficiency by offering rebates, financing, consumer tools, and an installer database to help Mainers lower the cost and environmental impacts of energy consumption. This presentation will provide an overview of Efficiency Maine’s programs that support insulation, heat pumps, heat pump water heaters, electric vehicles, and appliances.
Presenter: Bridget Gifford is a senior program manager for Efficiency Maine residential programs. Efficiency Maine administers programs to improve the efficiency of energy use and reduce greenhouse gases in Maine. It serves all sectors and all regions of the state. Its nationally recognized programs provide consumer information, discounts, rebates, and loans for high-efficiency, clean energy equipment, and strategies to manage energy demand. The Trust’s programs help Maine’s homes, businesses, and institutions reduce their energy costs and greenhouse gas emissions to improve Maine’s energy independence and economic security.

Saco-Biddeford History with the Saco Museum
Anatole Brown, Education & Program Manager of the Saco Museum will guide you through a variety of topics relating to the local area. Wabanaki origins, Colonial establishment, rise of the textile mills, Saco Main Street through the years, rise of Tourism, etc!

Inner Ear Workshop with Maine Strong Balance Center
Join Dr. Katie Heller, PT, DPT for "The Inner Ear Workshop": an educational session about vertigo, dizziness, and the vestibular system! Participants will learn about the anatomy and physiology of the inner ear, understand different types of vertigo, causes of dizziness, and how they affect balance. Participants will leave understanding how to identify potential issues with the inner ear and how to keep their inner ear sharp as they age.

Streaming Devices for your TV with Age Friendly Saco
Age Friendly Saco will be presenting a session on “how to cut the cord”. Maybe you’re looking for a more cost effective solution to watch the latest episodes of your favorite show. Or maybe you are interested in learning how to stream TV! During this session, the Tech Handy Helpers will pass out a streaming device at no cost to you and introduce you to the art of streaming. The tech helpers will be able to help you with how to set-up and troubleshoot!
